Papago park is the perfect place to ride an ATB in the middle of the city. Having lots of fun on the Sklar PBJ.
Papago has easy MTB trails, beautiful views, a hole in the rock, a big pyramid, ancient ruins…and now perfect weather.
If you’re lucky you can even spot a 🐏, and maybe a 🦒 too (can you find it?)

I had no idea there were still bighorn sheep around Papago!
What a beautiful bike
See i really want a PBJ for an ATB…. but I am also wondering I should wait for another Lynskey eBay sale and just buy one of their Ti hardtails for the same purpose but slightly cheaper. The main loss is the tire clearance but the geo is very similar. I currently have a trek stache and a ti 26″ ATB and frankly there is enough cross over I could combine them and save the space of one less bike.
Daamn!
Love the color scheme
I recognized Papago Park immediately. I got 3 degrees from ASU but haven’t been back since 1995. I used to ride it on a primitive mountain bike with slick tires. Actually gripped the gravel pretty well.
Lots of history in that park. A few highlights: in 1879 it was a reservation for the Maricopa and Pima tribes, in 1914 it became a National Monument (rescinded in 1930,) in 1942 it was a WWII POW camp which gave way to the largest POW escape from an American camp in 1944. [The Great Papago Escape](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Papago_Escape) quickly fell apart when the German sailors realized that river on their map was mostly dry.
It’s hard to believe that they hold a 12 hour race in such a tiny park. After the amount of time I spent running and riding Papago, I feel like I know every square foot of it.
