Hello fellow xbike nerds, this is my Peugeot Crazy Horse. Not sure exactly what year. It's mostly stock, some of the upgrades I've made are as follows:

Wheelset is a pair of Mavic Oxygene rims from another bike that were originally laced to a set of Maillard Diabolo hubs, but the rear helicomatic was toast. I replaced the rear hub with a Deore LX for 8 speed compatibility. Conti RaceKings complete the wheel set for a plush ride.

In order to run this big ol' 8sp ZTTO aliexpress cassette, I needed an equally chinese hanger extender. Running the original simplex derailleur, but doesn't have enough capacity for the triple up front. The FD is limited out to only shift the middle and low gear.

Front derailleur was also a simplex, but the plastic was cracked, so I replaced it with a Shimano 600 because it was the only FD I had with the correct clamp size. Looks good, but always needs to be trimmed as the chain rubs the inside if you try to shift the back more than 6 of the 8 speeds.

Crankset is OEM, but I put some brass extractor bolts I bought at blue lug when I visited Japan earlier in the year. Pedals are classic Suntour bear traps I got at a bike co-op in Los Angeles.

Brakes were originally Lee-Chi, they sucked. The black Deore LX's are a forever classic, and they stop good enough. I had these cool Ritchey Logic pads in a bin forever, and this seemed like the right build to use them on before they dry out forever. I had these MAFAC cable hangers, and had to use them because vive la france.

For the cockpit, I've got some Suntour lever/thumby combos I pulled off another bike. They are for 7 sp, but have a friction and an index mode. They're in friction mode, but the 7sp index works close enough, and even have an 8th "ghost" shift past the 7th one. Knockoff aliexpress ergon grips are great for the price. I bought the gold/brass cable housing at Blue Lug in Japan as well.

Finally, this old, rotting Brooks saddle is the comfiest saddle I've ever ridden. I bought it at a bike co-op in Le Mans, here in France. It doesn't have loops, so I put on these clamp-on ones that I bought at Cycles Grand Bois in Kyoto.

TL:DR cool bike cool parts
