Was on my usual commute when I felt a little thud feeling that almost felt like I shifted gears. Got home and inspected my bike and noticed this link was broken. Is this safe to ride and can I just replace the link, or will the whole chain need replacing?
Any help is appreciated.

A fully snapped chain is not super dangerous, so you can chance riding like that if you need to. You just might get stranded somewhere. I’d replace the whole chain asap though.
You could use a quick link as a bandaid, but that chain should be replaced.
Midrange KMC and SRAM chains are readily available for under $30. Just match the chain to the number of gears in your cassette. You’ll probably also need a chain breaker tool, since chains tend to be long to accommodate different drive trains. Lay them side by side, match the length to your old chain, and pop out the rivet holding the excess on.
