First of all; thank you for all the great information you all are posting on this, and other subreddits. Makes it a lot easier to take an informed decision, even for us beginners.
For the last year or so I've waited for a used bike to appear on Finn.no (Norwegian Craigslist), to no avail. A lot of bikes, but few in my size and frankly too expensive for me. I had a budget of maximum 10.000NOK (aprx. 850EUR). After looking for a year, however, my budget increased a bit (funny how that works…).
The previous weekend my credit card had a "double points" weekend, and I thought there was no better time to purchase a new bike than now – so I went to Canyons webside and purchased the Canyon Allroad. Hurray!!
My first issue was NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY FOR THE BIKE. Like, what? I've never ordered anything online before that I wasn't allowed to pay for. This being a Saturday there wasn't customer support either (apart from the chatbot with 2010-abilities).
OK, but whatever, at least I'm getting the bike. BUT NO! Three days later I get the e-mail (that a lot of people have gotten) saying it's delayed until MARCH.
The kicker is, however, that their website still lists the 2XL (the one I bought) as available!!! That's just a blatant lie from Canyon. Either that, or they just don't want to sell me a bike.
I do really hope their bikes are better than their chatbot, logistics and purchasing experience.
Rant over.

You waited a year, now you can’t wait for 3 months? And you’re mad they didn’t charge you for an out-of-stock bike?
