I am wondering if this is worth the purchase, I have been looking for a new bike for a while and I think it is about time. The price listed is 3k which I am unsure is a fair price. Here is what was denoted on the marketplace post,

"Trek SL frameset
Ultegra di2 12 speed
Dura ace chain and cassette
Bontragers Aeolus Pro 51s
Enve road handlebar
Bontragers blendr stem
Waxed chain
Brand new brake pads
Specialized Power 3D printed saddle

I have an extra chain and an 11-34 cassette"

  1. Slightly over priced but not bad. Make sure its actually 12 speed because like the other comment mentioned, that’s a 11spd shifter and theyre not interchangeable

  2. A potential hidden cost with the Emonda is the seat mast. See if the current seat mast can be be sized to fit you. It has its limitations compared to a traditional seat post. Trek sold around 4 sizes. The one in the photo looks taller than the stock one, which means it cannot be lowered as far as the stock seat mast.

A new seat mast is around $180 from Trek, but can be had for less on eBay if you know your size. IMO, the seat mast design is one of those bike industry trends that doesn’t seem worth the potential claimed benefits.

  3. Just noticed the slammed stem. Will that be ok with your bike fit? Also, slammed stem bikes can be hard to resell later.

No bike is worth the money if it does not fit you well.
