My shifting on my sram transmission using multi shift especially is not very good. I put into the chain length calculator it said 118 links for 427mm chainstay with 40t chainring but for 428mm it said 120links. My bike is 427ish but I did 120 to be safe. Could that be causing this issue?

Did you follow the whole setup process appropriately? It seems like the rear mech is misaligned
