From personal experience I can also state that this is a piece of crap and the last thing you want on a bike. It also eats a lot of your power and feels like you are pedalling through a bag filled with screws and bolts and often enough just stopping to pedal is interpreted as a signal to switch what leads to very unpleasant surprises.
