Should i?
Seems like overkill but I want to add a wolftooth chainguide to my 1x and this seems to be the cleanest way. I can’t really use a clamp because I have an odd shaped tube.
Anyone drilled holes in their aluminum frame? Doubt I’ll do it!
I know this isn’t the best pic. Or do I?

Yeah, goes without saying but I wouldn’t do that to an aluminum frame since they’re heat treated and would likely be weakened by a hole like that.
On the other hand, if you’re dropping chains a lot do you have a clutch and narrow wide chainrings already? It’s not normal to need a chain guide too often these days.
I suppose you could glue something on with JB Weld or similar metal epoxy…
would something like this work?

What about a chain guide that sandwiches between the bottom bracket shell and frame?
I would risk drilling elsewhere but not around th bb. Seems a lot of bikes snap around there
