I'm looking at 2 entry level bikes for my son. The Fly Electron or the Jet BMX Block. He currently has had the Fly Nova 18. He's 9 and almost 4ft 10in. The Nova is looking a bit small on him now. He's not hard core into BMX. But does like to tool around the outdoor skate/bike parks by us. Looking for good quality from reputable brand. The Nova had held up really well. Of these two anyone have an opinion or another recommendation
Thanks in advance

Anything with hi-ten steel is kinda outdated at this point. You can get some really nice full cromo bikes for the same price point. Both of those bikes some might consider glorified Wal-mart bikes. Fly is a great brand that might offer a better bike at that same price point. Getting something for him to grow into isn’t a bad idea either. Maybe try a “professional level” bike on sale.
Fly is the better bike, it bear in mind regardless what fly say on availability and shipping time, this past 2-3 years has proven long lead times of anywhere upto a year to receive it!
Skip the Block. The Electron is okay. Personally I’d get a full CRMO adult bike for him like a Kink Whip. My son is 4’10”, a beginner and prefers my Whip XL for the stability over his 20″TT bike. He just jumps with it – no spins or whips yet where the length really starts to matter. The regular Whip is 20.5″TT which he would grow into anyways in a few years.
Little experience with Jet bmx but I have a pair of handlebars from them and they’ve held up just fine. Fly is a good brand but as someone else said, you likely won’t be receiving anything until wayyy after xmas
Flybikes all the way dude way more reliable and just a better looking bike
