First long ride on the Grail – did 210 km today, mixed with light gravel, bike paths and some roads. Bavaria + Tyrol.
Changes so far are my tried and tested Ergon saddle, tubeless tires and adjusted levers and hoods.
The tubeless setup made the bike a lot more comfortable, it’s also noticeable on the roads.
One thing I’m not sure if I like is the 1 by, I’m definitely missing the second chainring so far. Maybe this will be something I’ll change in the future, or atleast I’ll go nuts with the eagle RD and cassette. I’m kinda not seeing the benefit of XPLR.

How would your compare the ride feel to your specialized sl7?
Thank you for sharing and nice photos. Right now I’m in making a decision which first gravel bike to buy (choosing between Giant REVOLT ADVANCED PRO 1 and Grail CF SLX). And one of hard points to decide if should go with 1by or 2 by 🙂
I’m living in quite flat area and most of my friends are suggesting 1by as a more convenient and reliable solution. But I’m still not sure 🙂
