Controversy was the order of the day after the third stage. Danathan Pppel winning the sprint but relegated once again picking up a fourth yellow card of the season. No other rider has been given more. Vardon Shaw was declared the winner and the resulting bonus seconds meant that he headed into the last stage with a 10-second lead at the top of the overall time sheets and that will be good enough for him to win the overall. The Norwegian adding the Deutsland tour to his other big GC win in Belgium last year. The final stage was yet again taken by Brennan after a big crash behind him. The wind counter now at 11.
