What a cracking leaving do I had at Wiper and True on Saturday. Really great fun. And then it was straight off to Bake House on Sunday morning for departure. [Applause] Come on. [Music] [Applause] All right. Day one. I’m on the bike path coming up to Bath between Bitten and Bath. Got me mate Gareth riding behind me. There he is. And um yeah, it’s all good so far. The rain’s kind of stayed off. You may be able to hear it’s quite windy though. The wind’s picking up. Not ideal for a unicycle, but so far so good. Lots of support on the way. It’s been lovely. So, um yeah, long may it continue. It’s only another 1,100 days to go or something. Anyway, it’s good a start as I could have hoped for. I had a lovely send off earlier from uh from the bake house in Bristol. So, yeah, let’s see what this trip holds for me. Let’s go. Come on. Day one done. Happy days. I’ve made it to a resting spot. Um, I didn’t go quite as far as I wanted, but not too far off. So, I’m happy with that. Um, I realized that today I started a bit later than I would when I’m camping and stuff. So, um I also we going through the edge of Bristol and through Bath slower because you a urban areas be talking to lots of people about the trip which is great. I’ve had such a great response today from people. It’s been fantastic. Highlight of the day with people was a a Dutch chap called Yan. Big up Yan. Massively big up Yan. He stopped. He had a chat with me. He’s an older guy. him and his partner are riding in the UK at the moment on bikes. He’s given me his number, his phone number. He’s not on socials. Give me his phone number. Give me a ring when you’re in when you’re in uh the Netherlands in three or four weeks. You’re coming to stay with us. What a legend. So, yeah, absolutely fantastic. Let’s hope the trip just continues like this and gets better and better. Let’s go from strength to strength. Day one done. See you tomorrow.

  1. Right on! Good to see you've got your uni setup dialed in.

A suggestion: maybe strap that yellow bag from your backpack onto the front pannier. That way you have less weight on your bum. If Ed's tour was any indication, you'll be quite sore in that area soon! 😅
