


Firstly, thanks to all who helped my in the linked post. I'm back on the road (3rd pic, foreshortening is making the ratio look silly)
Next: did the cog from the previous post cause the damage show on the freehub body? Is that normal?

Doesn’t look great but if it holds the cassette without it slipping then it’ll still work. Usually you can replace that sleeve part without replacing the entire hub
Yup and yup. Steel against aluminum, it shouldn’t be a surprise which metal loses that battle. Steel freehub next time or a dedicated SS/Fixie wheel.

They make single speed cogs that are wider at the base so they won’t dig into cassette bodies. The Origin8 Torq Lite cog is a good cheap option, I’ve been using one for a while and it’s been great. Wolf Tooth also makes a couple that look nice. I’m sure they’re good too, Wolf Tooth makes quality stuff.
