i bought this bike thinking i was buying a 2026 cult control but im thinking about selling it and after looking it over i don’t think i have a control i think i have a gateway because the control image doesn’t have brakes but the gateway does they look the same to me so i cant tell but i payed 550 for it and id like to get 500 out of it but if its only a 400 dollar bike i obv wound be able to do that if anyone knows how i can determine what i have that would be so helpful (also it looks a lot like a devotion as well)

General rule of thumb with selling BMX bikes is you’ll never get close to what you paid unless it’s collectible or rare in some way.
So your best off making it work or be ready to take a loss when you sell it.
Do you not have the receipt or invoice from when you bought it?
that is a control. you will not get even close to 500 out of it tho, as soon as bmx parts leave the shop they are worth less than half
It’s probably the right bike. It comes with brakes.
See here: (https://www.empirebmx.com/products/cult-control-2025)
Read the description. It says “Removable 990 U-Brake [installed]”
Check this out: (https://cultcrew.com/collections/cult-complete-bikes/products/025-devotion-black)
It also says in the description, “Removable 990 U-Brake [installed]”
Yeah as others are saying it’s unlikely you’ll get what you paid for it but if your lucky someone else mine be willing to trade bikes they wanted a similar model but with a brake! But personally I’d just stick with what you’ve got and get some riding done
Some states is illegal to sell a bike without brakes so they probably slapped it on there to sell it to you or to ship it to you or whatever
