I’m trying to swap my rear wheel’s freehub body from HG to an XD hub. I went to my local bike shop, and asked them to swap it with an XD hub that I bought online. However. The mechanic said that he’s never seen this type of free hub, and the one that I bought is not compatible.

This freehub came off of a DT Swiss G540 rear wheel. The wheel came off of a 2022 stock specialized crux.

Can any of anyone identify what type of free hub this is? I would like to buy a compatible one that’s XD.

  1. I would try contacting Specialized and ask them what would work for your bike.

I did a similar thing with my Intense 951 Trail where I was switching my hub driver to a Microspline from an HG driver. Luckily for me Intense makes their own custom hubs and hub drivers (Microspline, XD, HG) that can just swap in.

Worst case you’ll need to get a new hub but hopefully there’s a part you can just buy to get it to work

Here’s the part from Intense if you want to try it for your bike

Edit: I have a 12 speed and just saw you have an 11 speed so I’m not sure if there would be an issue from that

That is the rim. You can lace that to any random hub.

What hub do you have because you need to get one that fit the hub, if it exist.
