Interesting how the heatmap intensity on PCH heading into Long Beach goes from FIRE to almost nothing right at the Traffic Circle. It really makes a strong case that the demand is there, but the infrastructure is the barrier.

Am I crazy for not wanting to create bike lanes on major thoroughfares? I’d much rather have a side street be modified to discourage car traffic and encourage cyclists(round abouts at intersections, partial medians to prevent cars going more than a block at a time) vs be adjacent to cars going 30mph+. I don’t live there but looking at the maps I would take a different street (17 or 20th?) going east west vs trust a bike lane alongside traffic.
