Visiting Albania was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made while traveling. Everything you hear about its “beauty” and “hospitality” is nothing but lies. The reality is completely different.
Prices are a scam — they charge you like you’re in Greece or Italy, but what you get in return is disgusting service. The infrastructure is falling apart, roads are dangerous, and traffic is absolute chaos with drivers behaving like reckless idiots.
Everywhere you turn, it feels unsafe. Criminals, scammers, and cheaters seem to be part of daily life. Restaurants and hotels will happily rip you off while treating you with zero respect.
Nothing works properly, nothing feels honest, and nothing matches the fake image being pushed online. In short: Albania is a complete disappointment. It’s not worth a visit, not even once. Call it “Albanistan” — because that’s the reality.
I would never go back, and I strongly advise others to avoid wasting their time and money there.
