This is the second time that my Bike Yoke Revive 3.1 dropper has busted in 3 rides since the last repair. This time I had my weight on the seat and dropped it to the lowest setting and felt to pop. This results in my seat spinning 360°. I had a back up repair kit that cost $20 and took it to my bike shop and these are the pictures from the attempted repair. They said there’s no point in fixing it because it’s just going to happen again and the design is a bad design. They wanted to give me a loaner or have me purchase a new one. I’m holding and hoping that the warranty process will provide some clarity. I’m already two years and six months out from purchase so I doubt bike yoke will warranty this.
I’ve emailed these pictures to bike yoke and expect to hear back soon. I’ve had no problems with this dropper for the last two years, but since I got it repaired at the bike shop, this is the second time it’s happened. Is there a piece missing or is this dropper poorly designed?
The grey piece is the piece that is designed to break so it doesn’t damage the metal components. This time you can see one of the metal pins bent almost 90° so the gray piece breaks and these pins just fall out. A chunk of the gray plastic is lodged in the foam. What do you guys think?

It doesn’t look like that circlip was used to hold the bushing in place. So a few cycles of the post and those brass keys have moved out of their races/below the upper tube. I suspect that’s how you got that 90 in one, the bottom of the upper tube, or lower seal head, bent it under compression and forced it thru the bushing and into your foam rings.
I’ve never seen any keyway in a post get mangled like that before. Have you done some sort of travel adjustment? These are regarded as the gold standard as reliable dropper posts. I suspect bike yoke will be able to offer advice better than most people on Reddit.
