After 17 years of faithful service it's time for me to sell my S2L-X so I can get a new electric P line. I've been offered £675 by a bike shop which seems a bit low. But it is hard to judge as similar bikes sold recently on EBay are a lot newer than mine. It is raw lacquer with raw titanium. Nitto bars, Ergon cork grips, MKS quick release pedals, newer Brompton brake levers. Rest is stock. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks!

I would say it depends on the frame. Is it the shorter version or the more modern one?
If modern, i would put it at about £1000.
For 17 years old £675 is more than fair it is a very very old bike at this stage I’d take the deal honestly and put the money towards the new one.
Unless you’re tight for cash, I would hold onto it for a while, 2 reasons:
1) it’s an x model and I think people will be interested in collecting Brompton’s first attempt at a titanium model
2) it looks lacquer. If it is, that was also the first time they used lacquer and it had to be discontinued for a while because of alleged safety concerns with the production
Happy to be corrected if any of that information is incorrect
I think £675 from a bike shop is fair. You might get £800-900 (assuming your upgrades are decent condition) on a private sale if you are patient but it can be a hassle. Is the shop pricing in those accessories? I’d take them off if possible.
