  1. If that is a spot that rubs on the frame; I would replace it right away that metal liner will do damage if the paint is still there.

How did it get damaged? looks like something sharp might have stripped it in a accident.

  2. Its only the rubber coating on the outside that is worn. The metal outer and inner cables are fine. I’d maybe sugru it or give it a layer of insulation tape.

Check out what it’s rubbing on though – maybe get some helicopter tape on that bit of the frame to save the paint if its not too late.

  3. It is not clear from the picture but do you have a fenderless bike? its possible that the brake cable rubbed against the front wheel. Normally a cable stopper is added on erstwhile E ( S2E, H2E – the one without fenders or racks) bikes.

Is the hose rubbing on your wheel? Usually your fender protects the brake housing, but it looks like it’s still rubbing against your front wheel. Get some helicopter tape and wrap it around the exposed brake housing. That should get you enough time to get the brake line changed.

  5. did u take off the fender and did not put the cable disc to prevent rubbing to the tyres? need more info.

otherwise just tape it up again with electrical wire or something and put the stopper disc on the front fork to prevent rubbing to happen again

metal out shell showing.. inside will still funciton ok..

    depending on your budget either:

    – get it replaced

    – get some tape and cover it up and figure out why the rubbing off of OG plastic

    – also look at frame where that is touching and resolve the contact point.

good luck and keep romping your brompton
