I just saw this (via Threads) and while I agree with the need and part of the execution of the product/system, I’m questioning the viability of using a Kevlar-covered heavy chain as a deterrent against thieves. The LockStop box has motion/disturbance detection which then alerts you (the owner) via their app.
Would you still use your own lock in addition to the LockStop provided chain to have even more of a deterrent? Thought about this locking system?

I read their FAQ and using their system, without municipal subsidizing, has a per-use fee ($1) and a 5-cents/minute of use fee!!
– You have to put a QR code sticker on your bike as part of registration with LockStop
– The Lock’s internal battery can go dead requiring a call to their Support line.
– Every issue facing users almost all seem to require a call to Support to resolve issues.
They might need to do a bit tweaking to their business plan?
