Looking for a first project bike to work on with opportunistic marketplace parts, I’m in no rush to have a finished bike and not looking to flip for crazy profit, just want a fun build with a solid frame for a fair price that i can hopefully (eventually) give to a friend as a solid commuter

Is $150 a reasonable price for this frame?

  1. Price is a bit like: not cheap enough to be a good price, yet not expensive enough to make the seller look greedy (or an idiot). Nice point for first offer imo. With original fork in mint condition it would be in the range of okayish, without fork it’s not.

Generally speaking a decent tubing well-made frame from a big player brand at the time, they had a very solid reputation for decently priced, yet always lightest bikes of their price ranges with perfectly balanced geometry.

The Eldridge grade was a good frame, but lower spec’d model (Pine Mountain was same frame, but better parts). But the frame lacks highlights besides being well-made, not top level tubing, not top image, no rarity at all…

In great condition I would realistically put this frame at about half of what they ask.
