Flying direct to my destination. I have a card board bike box from my local bike shop or this case i borrowed from a friend. I can fit it in this box but the derailleur hanger is scaring me. Should I just go with the cardboard box to be safe?

Would find it too close for my liking.
By the way, if you put the air out you can use strap to compress the fork, saves you space.
Or just remove it and put it next to the bike, then you can do padding around the rear as well.
I’ve shipped in a too small box before. I’d remove the hanger and air down the fork. Should free up some room
Oof. No way, my buddy worked baggage for years and told me if he had a bad day he would take it out on your stuff. I would for sure want some padding…especially on the corners
