Never use cable locks. They’re so useless. We came out to this about 2 hours after the previous video (about Masonville Mall’s horrid parking situation)… to find this tiny little cable lock “locking” this bike to the bike rack 🤦‍♂️

People always wonder why bike theft is so high… but then go ahead and use literally the WORST locks imaginable to lock their bicycles.

Like seriously? AT LEAST TRY! And while you’re at it, get rid of all of your quick-release bits and replace them with either proper bolts and nuts or better yet: a full set of pinhead locks! (https://pinheadlocks.com)

THIS is how you get your bike stolen. See, those two bikes on the right are ours. And on the left is this silly little cable lock protecting this bike. I mean, it’s not a multi-thousand dollar bike, it’s a super cycle. BUT… do you want that to vanish? Forget bolt cutters, you could probably use a butter knife to cut through cable locks with enough time. Easier thing to do is use scissors. OR… NEVER in your life use cable locks. How about that?

  1. Man I just ride a dirt jumper around with a masterlink chain and just take the chain off whenever I leave the bike somewhere (I also lock it up but no chain is an extra deterrent and it works really well)

  2. I have that same cable lock. Remember thieves are opportunists they will steal your bike based off how easy it is and they don’t care if people are around. The harder you make your bike to steal or concealed will involve a better chance of thefts being deterred

  3. Soooo, you only seem ro have protected the frame on your bike. Use the Sheldon Method to secure the expensive back wheel AND frame at least.

  4. trying to find best to use cable lock with wave rack because that is all I have and all these smart alec videos waste time telling what not to do and nothing showing how to acually do it. WASTE OF TIME!
