Hey folks. I’ve been plugging away at this build for a few weeks and not feeling totally certain I like where it’s going.
I think I’m not a huge fan of how the forks look so I might end up springing for some rigid ones. I want to wrap the bars (maybe brown leather) because these grips are absolute shite. Needs a new front derailleur. I’m toying with the idea of silver housing at some point down the line too. Tyres need to go. Already tried but these bontragers are stubborn af.
Any ideas beyond these to get this build off the ground?
3rd pic is as I bought it

Those bars mounted in that position with the saddle drop and a suspension fork would make for an interesting ride that’s for sure.
Flip them bars upside-down and ride it!
The mustache style bars and suspension fork are from opposite ends of the 20th century! One of them has to go, methinks
Your back gonna be feeling it with that bar setup. Unique ain’t always useful or feel good
Flipping bars on these bikes seems off to me unless the fit requires it. 90s and early 00s mountain bikes are inherently long and for what they are being repurposed for, a more upright fit with a short cockpit makes more sense. Personally I’d toss a soma 26” fork on it and get those bars flipped back.
Love the bars. What is that?
It’s gonna be funny when your knee hits those shifters with this setup lol
Albatross upside down is wild! You do you, but if I’m buying Rivendell type parts I tend to make a Riv-like bike: comfortable, upright position with simple and durable parts.

Bikes are for riding. Work on your self esteem.
Would flip the bars up to get a more upright riding position.
