  1. As a mountain biker, I do the climb to enjoy the downhill.
On gravel, I prefer shorter climbs and shorter downhills over one giant climb and downhill.

Would I go? Absolutely. Would that be a regular ride for me? Idk. I would have to ride it first.

  2. I rode the Oregon Outback this summer, and there were a couple climbs like this – not the scenery, but the grade – on shared roadway: coming up and into the Prineville reservoir (oof) and the climb out of Antelope. They weren’t fun in the moment, but definitely earned a “hell yeah” after the fact.

  3. Sure – if it wasn’t a crazy hot day. It doesn’t look that far or that steep. Route details? Do you know the length and avg. grade?

  4. I’ve ridden a lot worse than that. That climb has views.

On Sunday I climbed a mud road straight up a ski slope for 1000 feet. And the descent wasn’t even good 🤣.

    Stupid mountain bike race.
