Assembled the other night, first non-raining day to ride. So eager to go I didn’t even take off the protective plastic on the frame. First impressions: It’s a fast bike. I was skeptical of the relatively narrow tires – I am used to 700C-37 or 38. But these worked very well on the damp packed mud of our local trail. Enough traction even where leaves were piled. And the disc brakes are a revelation in damp weather. I’m 5’10” and got a Large based on test rides of similar geometry bikes. Glad I did – Canyon website sizer suggested a Small!

Still need to fine tune the position. I just eyeballed it when assembling, need to raise and slide back the seat a little and rotate the bar and grips. And add some bottle cages, maybe in a “color” since the gray is a little dull.

Questions:Can the stem be flipped to raise bars about an inch? Or is that a no-go?Somebody mentioned changing the front chainring if I need lower gearing for hills. If I go a couple teeth smaller, do I need to shorten the chain? Or can I get by?

My last NBD was 21 years ago: Bridgestone XO5. The Roadlite is exactly what I was looking for: a relatively tough flat bar sort-of-road bike with decent components easy for a non-buff geezer to ride. And well within my budget.
