Hi guys, I've just bought a new back wheel to use on my indoor trainer, but I noticed that the spokes are a bit loose. How normal is that?
The wheel is fairly true, and it will only be used in the indoor trainer, so I don't have to change the tire every single time that I want to train indoors.
Let me know what you think.
Wheel spoke tension. Is this normal?

Seems decent to me. I bought a cheap spike tension gauge on Amazon when building wheels.
Spoke tensions should be based off the rims build specs, a light 20mm rim for a road bike will have much lower tensions than a 35 mm rim for DH
they look fine
It looks reasonable, potentially a little on the loose side, but it’s impossible to judge accurately from a video like this.
Typically even spoke tension is going to be more critical than the tension itself (unless it’s super high or low)
I believe there are audio based tension apps that will be a lot more useful than looking at you squish spokes…
