  1. Hello,

I am trying to transfer my father’s old bike components to this new bike frame he bought sometime ago.

The bike frame is a, from what I can tell, a 2011~ Pinarello Dogma 60.1 60HM1K, Onda FPX1. Those are all the markings on it I can find.

From my research it is supposed to be 70mm Italian threaded. However that doesn’t seem to be the case as this Italian threaded bottom bracket does not fit.

Can anyone provide assistance. Here are additional photos.

And also, what does over size bottom bracket mean?

  2. Can you take out the BB and measure the frame?

    * What is the diameter of the BB opening?
    * Is it threaded? (I assume yes since you are trying with a threaded BB)
    * What is the width from one side to the other?

With that info there are a number of sites that can provide some guidance.

Also remove your cable guide bolt as sometimes it interferes! I had that problem

It’s pretty common for fake Pinarello frames to have the wrong BB standard, often times with off spacing or using BSA threading but with both cups threaded the same way so you end up needing two drive side BB cups to get it to work.

There are other tells if you looks hard enough, but the easiest thing to do is to look up the serial number and see if it’s legit. I wouldn’t recommend riding a fake frame, but everyone’s risk tolerance is their own.
