Hey people, hope you can help me on this, I was waching the other day some videos on YouTube about shifter Maintenance and it was recomended to use a spray lube after degreasing the shifters, the thing is that i bought this WD-40 wich is supposed to be for bikes chains only, do you think is a good option to lubricate my shifters? Thanks in advance 🫶

Should be fine. I’ve never used this particular product, just don’t use anything too thick or goopy or you’ll have a mess.
It’ll probably be fine. There are other combination spray lubes like Boeshield which have additional protectants in them…you could also use a thicker lube like lithium grease (yes, spray white lithium grease) which may last longer in the shifter mechanism. The factory lube tends to be thicker, which is why older shifters can gum up…but generally they gum up instead of any of the parts inside wearing out.
Usually chain lube is super sticky as its designed to stay on the chains, but i have no experience with that WD40 branded one. I would think you would want some lighter lube for shifters.
I just use whatever lube that smells like banana 🍌 and most chain lubes smell like banana 🍌 it should be fine ig 🍌🍌🍌🍌
