Had to cut the ride short as it was too grim and very exposed (gusts, serious rain), actually, and it felt like cycling in January. Cutting it short did mean it remained "enjoyable" in an extreme 🤣 "character-building" kinda way. But amazing descents, some very techy – always good, with endless muddy fun.

Looks like a pretty normal British summer’s day to me…!
A visually pleasing type of grim though.
I looked at the forecast for the weekend and decided Saturday was the day (just a bit further south than you in the peaks).
Either way the slop is well and truly back. There’s a marked difference between the last two weekends.
Good. It keeps the riffraff out.
But seriously, it’s rides like this that give the best memories! My favourite ride was mid November, and the first snow of the year. Just a skiff, not even a centimetre. Nobody else. Good times. Although that might be the introvert in me talking…
Hope you have other great rides like this!
