A follow up to a previous thread

So I asked my mechanic to try again, and this was the response and the pic is the result:

“I removed and inspected the cranks today, it looks like all was as it should have been but the non drive crank had dislodged or displaced due to not enough tension… I’ve reassembled and it looks good with the collar set nice and close. Please monitor to be sure it holds as expected”

From the above picture is this satisfactory or should the crank arm be flush against the collar and the collar flush to the bottom bracket shell?

The gap where the exposed axle is smaller than before but it doesn’t seem right that I should be able to see crank threads.

Shifts fine but there’s also quite a lot of chain vibration when in the smaller cogs

I’m not filled with confidence, are my concerns warranted and should I take to another lbs?

  1. It looks like there should be a spacer between the BB shell and the preload collar. The preload collar needs to be snugged up to the spacer to remove any lateral play in the crankset.

Edit: trying to not be a dick
