Low effort picture with a frame that looks cool but performance wise is a bit of a dog.

For the old bikes, yeah, not for the new ones. Some for Colnago.

This frame looks like an unsuccessful origami folding.

Bianchi’s are generally beautiful bikes – this, however, is a monstrosity

This has the nostrils, right?

I have many thoughts: first of all, bianchi in general I think is really cool, lots and lots of beautiful bikes over the years.
For me, the Oltre just misses. I really like the idea of using aero geometry to make something cool and different and striking (the top tube design has so much potential to look awesome), but I think it never quite came together for this bike. The paint scheme doesn’t do the topology any favours imo, and there are just one too many little imperfections that really draw the eye (especially the pointy speed sniffer and the weird lump in the seat tube that looks like it needs to be seen by a doctor). The execution of the cockpit also just looks kinda rushed to me, again it had potential to look like a spaceship (S5/y1rs type thing) but imo it’s kinda jarring.
I think the biggest thing is the lack of design cohesion. The livery really really doesn’t accentuate or flatter the sculpting of the frame and even the frame can’t decide if it wants to be angular or curvy. Some sports cars and fighter jets and road bikes pull that off, this doesn’t, it just looks like it was designed by a bunch of different teams with no proper collaboration.
All of that would still be totally excusable if it was an aero masterpiece with wind tunnel data to match the y1 and S5 but it’s not, I’m pretty sure even an sl8 is faster so it just kinda begs the question of why it exists.
I seriously don’t wanna be mean, if you love it and it makes you wanna ride it then who cares, that’s wonderful and you shouldn’t enjoy it any less just cause others don’t feel the same way. I bet it rides beautifully and whatever you buy at this price point is gonna be an incredible bike so this is all intellectual anyway 🙂

Back in my college fixie days I wanted a Celeste Bianchi track frame so bad. I thought that was pinnacle bike design
