See video. 160mm rotors on flat mount Force brake caliper.

Towards the end of the video when I tighten one of the bolts, you can see it pulling the caliper slightly to one side causing the squealing. When the bolts are loose it aligns perfectly. But obviously I need to tighten the calipers. What do I do?

When I tighten my caliper bolt the brakes squeal.

  1. Do the brake pads rub for the entire rotation of the wheel? I couldn’t tell for certain as the camera wasn’t steady, but it appears to me that the disc (rotor) needs to be trued up as it seems to seize at 5 s into the video *before* the screw is tightened.

  2. Both need to be loosened then you squeeze the lever and then while still squeezing you tighten.

  3. are you applying brakes when tightening the bolt? You should hold on to your brake levers to center the caliper, then tighten your bolts.
