hello and t.i.a. for the cloud knowledge!
i bought a secondhand t-line from what turned out to be a bad dude and am now in the process of undoing some of his mods.
one such mod he did was replace the stock chainring with a 38T thin chainring.
i've managed to take the crank arm off the ring ( step 1 ), and also remove the FSA lock ring from the crank arm ( step 2).
however, there appears to be a spacer ( black with text ) installed that allowed for this narrow chainring to fit correctly. i do not know how to uninstall this!
i asked the local brompton authorized dealer, who had no idea…he wasn't even familiar with step 2.
i -think- i need to remove the 6-pin cap from the other side of the crank arm using a Park Tool instrument, but not sure. ( if so, i'm not exactly sure which tool, or which direction to loosen. ) my hope is that once the cap is removed, i can push the core out the other side, remove the spacer, and then install a better chainring ( H&H spider, which uses the same chainline as OEM/stock ). the H&H spider is too thick to mount with this black spacer/ring there. but just guessing here.
apologies for any naivety or using the wrong lingo, i'm relatively new at this. i have been scouring the internet for help and have come up empty.
thanks again, brompton'rs of the internet.

I really doubt you need to remove the self extracting bolt. The space is almost certainly held on with crud, and is just a washer that’s been crushed on by the chainring.
I’d try getting a razor blade between it and the crankarm.
