Bought a Scott Plasma 3 a few days ago and it all seemed completely fine when riding on the wheel however I've tried to put it on my Tacx this morning and I've noticed 2 things, firstly quite a loud click every so often from the derailleur and secondly the gear changes feel almost violent, it doesn't seem to change gear so much as slam into them, certainly doesn't feel normal.

Is it normal to have to adjust/re-align the derailleur when mounting to a turbo trainer or am I missing something else?

I think my derailleur possibly needs adjusting for my Tacx?

normal usually but sometimes people are lucky and no adjustment needed. Same brand cassette and size on wheel and trainer? If having to index inwards when on the trainer you can get a thin cassette spacer and get it to match your bike when the wheel is on. Did this with my old bike.

If cassettes are different size you will have to adjust the chain gap every time however.
