New MTB. Did I make a good decision?

Last week sold my 10+ yr old Chris Boardman MTB was getting a little tired and long in the tooth. (26in wheels).

Just picked this up Trek Marlin 7 gen 3. Did I make a good decision. I just took it out for a ride, boy do 29 inch wheels feel big!! 👀 Loving it so far.

I just do causal riding with my boy (10yr old) got him an electric assisted mtb as we live in a hilly area.
