Brighton fan but Woltemade's goal was beautiful. Good thing we won 3 points but if Newcastle could convert their big chances, it would've been a draw.
Nick Woltemade will be going on strike summer 2026 to get a transfer to Bayer Munich.

Bruno played 140 mins for Brazil in the week before this game. Joelinton 30 mins but they travelled to Japan and S. Korea. Their plane had to do an emergency u-turn because of a broken window. They were in the air for 12 hours before they got back to Amsterdam where they were flying from. They then spent another 12 hours flying to Seoul. Bruno had to get a connecting flight there so he’s had to take five flights total! This is all straight after playing 90 mins against Forest!
Sandro has played two full games in the week before this game, again straight after a full 90 v Forest. Gordon played 90 and 70 for England and big Nick played 90 and 60 mins for Germany.
Added to this we have our two main full backs out injured which massively changes how we’re able to attack and transition as a team.
Having said this, Brighton also had players play for international games this last fortnight. We just never seem to be able to best Brighton tactically. They’re able to pull us apart and expose our shape AND personnel probably better than anyone.
I saw this defeat coming tbh. If we get positive results v Benfica and Fulham though people will forget this pretty quickly. BTW Woltemade is absolutely class.

Nick Woltemade is the only shining light in what is otherwise a completely appalling season so far. For how much money was spent & for how brilliant Eddie Howe is supposed to be, even the some of the worst teams are ahead in the league. As good as Woltemade has been, it's becoming more apparent what an absolute disaster selling Isak was. We'd be nowhere near 13th if the club was competently run, bit the bullet & made Isak the best payed player in the world. As for Eddie Howe… time's running out for him.

0:07 Tonali has been terrific this season but he was poor yesterday. Why did he head that down to Bruno instead of taking the shot on himself? He had plenty of time and space to chest the ball down and take a shot. Bruno should have done better also but Tonali had a better opportunity to score imo.

As a man utd fan that just likes to watch football in general I really saw Woltemade as a big gamble, but he really hit the ground running for Newcastle, and I hope that if he leaves in 2-3 years, he actually respects Newcastle, because such an old and historic club like Newcastle deserves respect from it's players
