It’s a 12 speed C line electric Brompton.
When I have it in the 4th gear on the left side and 3rd gear on the right, it works. But the second I shift down from left side 4th to 3rd or below it begins skipping, making it nearly impossible to pedal with any normality.
Is the chain no good? Is the gear / shifter messed up?

Could it be a problem with tension in some cable?
I see the chain itself popping off the track when it’s rotating.
Maybe try to adjust the shifter gear barrel adjuster (on your left side) one click at the time until you hit the right spot. It’s probably just off.
Looks like you need to adjust your rear derailer. There’s a barrel adjuster at the gear controller on your left handle bar.
