He’s the first ever person to swim 1,000 m around Iceland, but it didn’t come without consequences. Ross Edgley started his swim 4 months ago with a goal of making it around all of Iceland. To help with the 43° waters he’d be in, he put on about 33 lbs of pure fat. But even with consuming 15,000 calories a day during his swim, he lost most of the weight. He had to battle freezing temperatures, massive waves, and extreme chafing from his wets suit, all while averaging around 18 miles of swimming a day. Parts of his tongue actually fell off from the prolonged exposure to the salt. And this isn’t even the craziest thing Ross has done because he’s the same person that swam nearly 1,800 m around the coast of Great Britain back in 2018.

I also prepared Icelandic swim in that way! Still haven’t done it, but I’m ready
Why is swimming around Great Britain crazier? That’s dumb.
How did he sleep, I'm so confused
Could have worn a dry suit idiot
Did he just say parts of his tongue fell out?
And thats the sea during summer so imagine what its like for us sailors out there in january 🙂 ye we fish all year long
Its funny that a human can just eat 200 hamburgers in a few weeks to gain enough weight to survive cold
One of those times, I'd say
"Why???"
And he clearly said
"Why not?"
They'll be the first and last. It proves nothing besides they long for attention.
