  1. for 1k is far too high for a non vintage 20 year old bike.

in my area 500 absolute maximum and that’s in the summer.

  2. 350. Great bike but 20 years old. That dura ace is kinda tempting though. But not a K tempting.

  3. No! Don’t even think about it.
Just buy a new bike for that money, it won’t be as bling but it will be a better (endurance) bike even full on race bikes the days have better tire clearance.
Or search a bit (better) online.

If it’s in really good condition, the groupset alone would go for 350-400. Figure 100 for the wheelset, 100 for the saddle and pedals. 150-200 for the frame. Lots of nice components, but 700 usd would be about as high as I would go for that.

  5. The gearing probably won’t be awesome on that bike. If you’re going to be doing a lot of hills, it may be part of the equation.

  6. Great bike but getting up there in age and is very overpriced. If you want a Roubaix try looking for an SL4 generation from around 2015. It’ll have rim brakes but it will be peak rim brake and very enjoyable to ride.

No, don’t buy it. My stepdad bought one in 2019 for $500 usd, everything Dura Ace.

Price is just too high, and even when well maintained and top tier, mechanical parts are bound to fail after so many years.
