Hey everyone, upgraded my old mtb from 10 to 11 speed with new 11s Shimano XT linkglide drivetrain.
I originally had a 30t chainring and intended to keep it so I went by the Shimano guide for chain length and got this chain “size” but, after installing everything, I realized my chainring was not as new as I thought and the chain was not sitting right on it so had to replaced it. Since I had to buy a new chairing I thought, might aswell upgrade to a 32t.
Question is… have I left the chain too short with the new bigger chainring installed? The derailleur looks a bit “stretched” no?

Forgot to say, the B tension screw is all the way out
It’s a little short looking to me. But if it shifts well it’s probably fine. You shouldn’t use the b tension screw to adjust for a poorly sized chain you’ll most likely introduce other shifting performance issues.
Looks fine
What does it look like with the suspension bottomed out?
The bike is shifting good, not perfectly but it could be a minor cable adjustment needed still, but my only concern is if the chain is putting too much strain on the derailleur clutch… 🤔
Here is a photo of it on the last cog of the cassete

Ok, I just installed another quick link to the chain, so, two links in total added, and this looks more like it right?
