Not just frames… complete bikes. I still have a bonty privateer in my garage waiting for makeover

Anyone knows if this was some sort of budget brand by Trek or did Trek just buy that company later?

I loved their color schemes in the 90s

Looks like 24” wheels?
Very underrated design for small riders. Not sure there is an equivalent product for adults in 2025.

The switch blade is worth a pretty penny…

I wanted a Race Lite in their British Racing Green color so bad back in the day. That and the aggro top tube slop of the Kona Kilauea were dream bikes for me. I eventually got a Kilauea. It has been dead in the basement for 23 years after a stray stick absolutely terrorized the derailleur hanger.

That livery reminds me my GT Zaskar 😀

All that neat stuff and then I see the Uno stem and Brooks saddle, a bit of a let down.

A few years ago, I was riding the Trek 100 (fundraiser ride that starts/ends at Trek HQ) and saw someone riding a new steel disc frame with Bontrager logos. I sped up to chat with him, hoping they were bringing back a steel Bontrager line. Turns out it was a one-off they used to display some new Bontrager wheels at their big dealer expo. So I guess the still had at least one welder on the payroll in Waterloo at that time.
