Hey everyone,

I currently ride a Trek Roscoe 7 hardtail and absolutely love mountain biking – but lately, I’ve been wanting to get into road cycling to cover more kilometers and mix up my riding a bit. I’m not planning to race or anything, but I do want something that’s efficient on pavement while still being forgiving if I hit some rough patches, potholes, or decide to hop on a gravel trail once in a while.

I’m also recovering from a back injury, so comfort and a slightly slacker geometry are pretty important to me. I don’t want an overly aggressive race position that’ll leave me sore after every ride.

That being said, I’ve been researching bikes with decent specs for the price and found a Giant Revolt Advanced 3 (carbon) for about $2,250 CAD (~$1,600 USD). It seems like a solid deal and a nice in-between for road + gravel.

Has anyone here ridden the Revolt Advanced 3 or something similar? How’s the comfort and efficiency balance? Would it be a good transition bike coming from MTB?

Appreciate any input!

recently bought a revolt 0, the alu version. super light and comfy. I also have mtb background and the transition to gravel was okay. the cube nuroad felt even better but sadly no sizes available. its best to try them out, everyone has his preferences.

2022 Giant Revolt Advanced 0 here. Great bike, used it as an endurance/gravel bike (70-100 mile Rides on mixed surface). Love the geometry, it’s slightly more relaxed than endurance bike and more aggressive than modern gravel geometry. Ran it with 38mm tires with grx 810 drive train. I’d say get the one that fits you and a geometry that suites the riding you intend to do, and get the best components you can for the money you’re willing to pay.
