Hello all, I have a tricky situation. I think I have a ferule stuck in the hole my housing for my seat post needs to go through. It’s on a Santa Cruz tall boy. I’ve taken it to my local bike shop and they can’t help me. Does anyone have any ideas? These are notoriously hard to push the housing through in the first place and we’ve tried for hours and all the usual tricks.
The reason I think that is a ferule is because I couldn’t get the original housing out or push it up through. I didn’t have a good enough flight so when I finally did pull it through, it had no ferule attached to it.

Honestly, I’d just buy a cheap endoscope, shove it in the frame, and see what’s actually going on.
An old electrician taught me a trick for fishing wires and other stuff through difficult spots. Feed a string in from one end while running a shop vac at the other end, allow the shoo vac to pull the string through then use the string to pull the needed part through the same path. It’s saved my ass a few times, might also help dislodge the stuck/missing ferrule.
