Looks superficial. I recommend a chain catcher.
It happens too often with the grail, that sucks so bad, I put a frame guard at that spot.

It doesn’t look serious, I find it hard to believe that a chain would do much damage, it looks like unpleasant rubbing, it happened to me in the past too, my chain fell off until I changed the sprockets from two gears to one gear in the front, in any case it is really recommended to put a chain guard on, it will do the job for you in my opinion,
Anyone else hate that term?
