Similar prices but different bikes.
Grizl is carbon, Crux is aluminum (but lighter than the Grizl by 300 grams). Grizl can mount 54mm tires, Crux 47mm. Grizl has mounting points and tools storage, Crux doesn't.
I want one bike that can do it all. I do fast road, heavy gravel, and ultra distance cycling. I need comfort above all (for ultra distance) but I need speed on road to be able to match my friends with dedicated road bikes. I do plan to buy a good set of road wheels.
I don't care about mounting points too much as I tend to bike pack lightly when doing ultras, but they are nice to have.
I'm afraid the crux is too aggressive and the 47mm limit on tires is an issue. 650b could be a solution but I don't know, it's not great when you are doing 300km of a mix of rough terrain and road in one go.
I'm also afraid the Grizl is too slow on road.
If I go with the Grizl, adding 500 euros to go from Apex XPLR to GRX RX820 is worth it or not? It feels steep, but also people say GRX has much better ergonomics and braking, especially for big hands which I have. But people are full of shit when it comes to equipment so I don't know what to believe anymore. Hard to choose without trying first!

I think in that case, you’d want the most tire clearance you can.
In my opinion and with my very beginner off-road skills, 47mm would be too little. 54mm allows you to mount some MTB tires and these would be definitely more suited than 47mm gravel tires.
