Was able to do a quick test ride at condor cycles in London today. I already have a P Line 4 speed and previously a 6 and the 3 speed. But been wondering about electric for my commute into work.

The main thing which instantly stood out was the weigh. this is a heavy bike with or without the battery. for my commute which is about 13 min ride, train, then 15 min ride I'm not sure i want the hassle of moving it around. the electric would definitely be nice but at cost to portability.

i also noticed much more drag on the back wheel. i guess not a major issue but when over the speed limit of motor your adding some resistance over non electric.

the handle bar display was ok. 100% would want it, but just did what it needed. the mode to give you a boost is very gimmicky in my view. felt like a genital push from a child. But changing from zore to 3 assist is simple.

bag clipped in and out really nicely from the handle. would be super quick at the train station.

changing a flat tyre would be a pain. Not a new issue, but more tools to take on the commute.

Overall it was a fun ride And i had a smile on my face. Was able to hit some steep sloops and the bike flew up them. Its not cheap and not light. i think it’s heavy enough id possibly just get the C line and adapt use the roller rack.

t line could be the golden ticket. But 2k more, but even then i might rather just a t line 4speed and keep it simple and sexy light.

  1. I guess the electric motor would make more of a ride difference than anything but did you notice any difference in the front end with the carbon fork and aluminum stem?

  2. I have the G-Line Electric (only had for a week), also have the regular T-Line. Have commuted with both.

I honestly don’t think the weight is an issue. I use the Bromptons in a similar way to you describe above. I’d say if anything the size is more of an issue than the weight (G-Line).

  3. If you have to carry the bike a lot … it’s much heavier. If you can mostly fold & roll it along on the rack wheels like this: [https://imgur.com/a/RUxleAs](https://imgur.com/a/RUxleAs)
Like I do w/my eC-12 w/seat fully extended, luggage connected to the bike as I roll along, then it’s fine.

Do you need to carry it that much? Or can you mostly roll it along fully folded, or unfolded in bike mode and push it along?
