Looks like the wrong hanger has been put on, or at least in the incorrect orientation. I’ve never seen a gap like that.

I’d question whether it is the correct hanger? It doesn’t seem to fit properly.
The hanger needs to be very rigid in order for the derailleur to perform properly.
Having said that, some I’ve seen appear to have been made from warm cheese…
That does not look like the correct hanger. It should be flush with the frame.
Not normal. Do you have any other pics of the dropout area?
for future reference if something seems incompatible you should never try to overtighten something to “fix it.” that’s how parts get broken.

Find a spesh dealer and get one from them. Looks like it won’t last long the way it is.
Looks like the wrong hanger. There are a million different types which makes it hard to find the right one. You can check wheelsmfg website and compare your old one with their pictures if you have the old one.
Having owned a couple of those frames and had many come through my workshop I feel safe in saying thats’s not the right hanger. Chances are the hanger broke and they just threw on whatever they could get quickly when they were selling it.
