Spike’s a little out of my price range. Can I get a discount? Oh, you want a discount? Okay, let me see what I can do about that. Hey, dude. What’s up? I’m docking your pay 50%. That dude needs a discount. What? My wife’s pregnant. It’s cool. You’re doing great work though. Hey sweetie, it’s Top Ramen for the next month because that guy needs a discount. Dude, why is it so hot in here? Because that guy needs a discount. That guy? That’s the guy. I got your discount. 20% off. That’s it. What if I pay cash?

this is why the bike industry is going downhill
what a emotional blackmail
has plenty of time to make videos with no customers. still can't figure out why he has no customers
And this is the kind of stuff that drives me online instead of the LBS😢
Bike shops that have such a low profit margin have to realize. Consumers can always build a high quality Chinese E-MTB from AliExpress to compete against AMFLOW. Then just upgrade parts when they have some cash. Never buy from small shops always go corporate.
You can always choke on the inventory
💩💩💩
My LBS will pricematch anything i can drive to and buy within 100 miles. Theyve got a $700 dirt jumper that theyd sell to me for $450. I like them though, so ill let someone else that doesnt know this pay them full price. I already line their pockets by constantly breaking derailleurs and being too stupid to fix it myself. Ive spent 20 hours tinkering with a shimano deore groupset and still cant get it indexed correctly😂
this is digital litter
"What if I pay cash?"
"Hey IRS, fuck you and your tax this year, THAT guy needs a discount!"
They aren't justifying the price of bikes. The margin on bikes are small. And that small amount of margin needs to pay for all that. So a discount would take that away
Bike shops don’t make there money on bikes it’s all labor
I can only speak from my own experience in the industry. But there's a pretty good profit margin. In my country, all the dealers are happy to write leasing contracts at the recommended retail price. As soon as the price expires, there's no service in the store. If you didn't buy it in-store, there's basically no service anyway. Retail often offers really poor value for money. I've drawn my conclusions: I buy my stuff online and only buy technology that's easy to maintain. It's a shame; I'd rather buy it locally and have it serviced.
Get a mtb
I wouldnt even bother selling bikes. Just do the maintenance and repairs.
Than i will go just second hand.
Does the grocery store give discounts? Nope.
Does the auto mechanic give discounts? Not usually.
Can you get concert tickets if you ask for a discount?
Do restaurants give you a discount?
Doctors?
Why is it when it comes to our toys everyone expects a discount?
All you online shoppers are hilarious.
Especially when you try to warranty your online purchases at the LBS. Hahahaha
It's like it's been made by AI with inputs from a catastrophically unfunny human
Keep justifying those outrageous prices for literal bicycles lmao
Which shows you why we no longer need bike shops to buy bikes.
This kind of sarcasm from an LBS kinda sucks. Who doesn’t appreciate a sale or a discount?
This guy here is why in 10 years there won’t be any more local bike shops. Delete your account bud.
My cousin is a bike mechsnic and says that the margins on bicycles are insane. Like they could knock off 30-40% and still profit
Maybe I just am the only person who works in a shop that doesn’t up charge but like, the shops can’t help how much things cost??? We sell everything as MSRP and price match manufacturer sales, if we dropped prices not only would the margins be insanely low it’d cause issues for other local shops. Blame the big bike companies, not your LBS!!
I buy 2nd hand off fb or my recent purchases ebay 😂
But we do need to support our local bike shops before they all vanish😢
I don’t know what you or your shop is trying to accomplish with this video; to me, this video makes you come across like a colossal whiney douche.
I might suggest a different approach.
This is just bad sales tactics, Cross sell to your higher markup stuff instead to give the illusion of discount. "Look I can't do discount on the bike, but I can sure do discounts on things you need to go with the bike"
Im wondering rather discount or no sale?
